DESCENDING session

The following session teaches the student how to descend with more confidence and control. We go over proper body positioning, line choice, and terrain management. This is one of the skills required to elevate your riding so you can access more trails.

Braking session

The following session teaches the student how to brake. In this lesson we go over gradual, consistent and modulation braking as well as how to slow down faster no matter the speed you are going. This lesson is one of the cornerstone skills sessions we teach.

Cornering session

The following session teaches the student how to corner properly. This lesson focuses on body positioning, direction control, balance. This lesson is one of the few which can be split into two directions, climbing and descending. We recommend one direction per session.

climbing session

The following session teaches the student how to Climb. This lesson uses body positioning, cadence, pedaling efficiency, and shifting techniques to perform better on any manner of climbing. This lesson can be focused on technical climbing, steep climbing, or faster climbing.

Operation of controls session

The following session teaches the student how to operate their controls. We focus on brakes, and shifting as well as if you have one a dropper post and remote lock out. We will look into speed control, cadence, shifting techniques, and ratio of braking.

Position and Balance session

The following session teaches the student how to position your body and maintain balance. This lesson focuses on the basics of body positioning, and balance both at speed and when going slow. We will look at the range of movement, center of mass, and stability on the bike.

 
 
 

Direction Control session

The following session teaches the student how to change directions on a trail as well as maintaining a “line”. This lesson is helpful for technical riding as well as steep riding and riding through a succession of turns.

Terrain awareness session

The following session teaches the student how to keep their eyes up. We look at switching where you look from the “now” to the “next”. We focus on the field of vision and how to keep aware of the trail. All of this factors into how we make decisions based on the information we read.
